Keep Our NHS Public leads the national fight to defend our National Health Service from cuts and privatisation. KONP was formed in 2005 in response to the then-Labour government’s drive to open up the NHS to the market through commissioning, PFI and the introduction of foundation trusts. It led the campaign against the Coalition government’s infamous 2012 NHS and Social Care Act, and is now building support for the NHS Reinstatement Bill, which aims to reverse the destructive effects of the 2012 Act. It is also in the forefront of exposing and opposing the proposed Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), which is in danger of opening up all public services to wholesale privatisation.
